Bob Emerson, CP

Being a Prosthetist is a unique occupation that requires both knowledge and experience to be proficient in the field.  This is something Bob Emerson has in spades through a lifetime of experience as a prosthetic user and over two decades of experience in the prosthetic field.   He has competed on the US disabled ski team from 1985-91 along with competing in two world championships and the 1988 Winter Olympics as a demonstration sport.  He has also had a hand in the development of some of today’s foremost prosthetic devices including Ossur’s Rheo Knee, Simbex’s Active Control System and Endolite’s Elite Foot.

Over the years Bob has also had experience treating many different amputations including; Symes, Rotationplasty, Hip, Shoulder, Elbow, Wrist and Transradial Disarticulations.  He also has extensive experience with all Transhumeral, Transfemoral, Transradial and Transtibial amputations; for which he has taken many classes to better apply the top prosthesis to his patients.  From the revolutionary I-limb by Touch Bionics and Otto Bock’s MyoBock Sensor Hand to Ottobock’s C-Leg and Freedom Innovation’s Plie Microprocessor knee, Bob has learned and experienced most of what the prosthetic field has to offer.  This along with his life experiences has made him the clinician that all of our prosthetic residents train with and who most of our clinicians contact for consultation.
