They make an unpleasant matter comfortable. —Nopco Children's Hospital of PhiladelphiaMentor ResponsibilityMentors are to meet with each resident weekly for 1 hour to discuss and review their workload, and set goals and objectives. The mentor is there to support, train, and advice the resident’s educational and professional progress throughout their orthotics and/or prosthetics training. The purpose of these weekly meeting is to ground the resident and to make sure they receive sufficient variety and volume of adequate exposure to all types of patients and cases (Adults, Pediatrics & Geriatrics).The Mentor is a certified practioner who works in the clinic where the resident is completing their residency. Each mentor should fill out a monthly evaluation form for each of their residents. All evaluations should be reviewed and signed by both parties. NCOPE quarterly reviews are to be completed, reviewed and turned into NCOPE. It is the residents’ responsibility to make sure all reviews are completed on time.
